History
WHSmith is Henry Walton Smith who had established retails business at very low-level in the year of 1792 in Little Grosvenor Street, London. In 1812, business handed over to William Henry Smith, which was the youngest son of the Henry Walton Smith and after some time, Company's name converted into W. H. Smith&Son. As presence of Next generation mind of Henry's son, firm had decided to increase business volume by installing retailer shops in railway station where the Euston was the first place where company had installed first retail shop in the 1848 and had located shops in Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham in 1850. As time change, Company also had changed strategies of business with same base along with opening circulating library service, in-between 1860-1961. W. H. Smith had become an MP in springboard along with successful businessman in the year of 1868.
After death of W. H. Smith, business was handover to William's son and in the year of 1928, Company became Limited company which was owned by the third Viscount. In 1948, Company was handover to W.H. Smith staff.
