RMS stands for Roads & Maritime Services is a transport agency, which is operated by the broader Transport Cluster, the Transport for New South Wales. RMS agency was established under the Transport Legislation Amendment Act 2011 on 1st of November 2011. It was the joint result of a merger between the Roads & Traffic Authority and NSW Maritime. Transport for New South Wales is responsible for transport policy, planning and coordination functions. RMS always strives to improve movement of people at road through several transport modes like walking, cycling, motor vehicles and public transport.

RMS manages a large area of Australia with its services. It has 18,036km of State roads, 4,317km of National Road Network, 2,970km of regional and local roads, privately-funded toll roads of 147 kilometers, 5,287 bridges, 3,945 traffic signal sites, 47 commuter wharves, and several other areas.
