Not a complaint, but a request: I was in the Franciscan Order which is in
Franklin, Wisconsin. There are about 120 friars living many of whom are in nursing homes at a cost of over $24, 000 a month. Being that most are in their 70's, they cannot work and therefore are in need of money to defray the cost of nursing home care. Father Sergius Wroblewski, OFM, was my church history professor in the seminary - he is now 100 years old. Based on the teachings of the Church on social justice, he would criticize the Republicans anytime they tried to pass a bill which would hurt the poor. In keeping with his example, I have written articles in our local paper in opposition to Trump's policies on immigration, health care access, veterans, etc. And received a death threat. I would humbly request if you assist these friars in their time of need since they have been preaching and living the gospel of Jesus Christ. They had a mission among Afro-Americans in Greenwood, Mississippi and the KKK burnt a cross on their rectory grounds. PS if you would like copies of my articles to the news, please let me know.
