O2 Dublin is the name of a concert hall and an event venue in the capital city of Ireland i.e. Dublin. It is a multipurpose hall used for various purposes such as concerts, exhibitions, conventions, musical shows, comedy shows and other events. The operations of the arena is owned by an American publicly traded company, Live Nation Entertainment, and Harry Crosbie. It is world's fifth busiest arena in terms of ticket sales lagging just behind the O2 London, the Manchester Arena, Antwerp's Sportpaleis and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena. It is country's largest indoor arena with a seating capacity to accommodate nearly 14,500 people. O2 arena opened in the year 2008 on the site of a former event venue that was known with the name of Point Theatre. In the year 2007, the site was taken over by another company which renovated and redeveloped it. And the name of the arena was changed to The O2, er a telecommunication brand, O2. In June 2013, the assets of O2 Ireland were purchased by 3 Ireland and the company's CEO announced the change of the arena name and the proposed names are The Threehouse, The 3 Arena and The 3 Point. Several major events were held at the venue and the first event held at the venue was a ChildLine Concert and after that it had hosted number of events like in May, 2013 it hosted 'The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour' by famous American celebrity Beyonce. The telecommunication Giant paid a whopping amount of €25 million to the owner company of the arena for the naming rights for 10 years.
