Michael Kors Laval is an American fashion designer who was born on August 9, 1959. He is the Chief Creative Officer and the honorary chairman of Michael Kors Holding Limited company. Kors began its business by designing clothes and selling them in his father's basement that was renamed the Iron Butterfly. He took admission at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in 1977 and dropped out after nine month. Then he did a job in Boutique Bergdorf Goodman on 57th Street and was given a space to market his creations. Kors firstly launched the womens wear designer dresses at Bloomingdales, Lord and Taylor, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue in 1981. He has launched lower priced dresses at the same time which was known as the first-ever women’s ready-to-wear designer for French house Celine. He left Celine in 2003 to concentrate on his own brand. He received various awards in fashion designing field such as CFDA International Award, Golden Heart Lifetime Achievement Award by God's Love in October 2012 and he is among the 100 most influential people around the world who has been selected by the American news magazine “Time” in 2013. Michael Kors also receives the award of the best designer of the Year in 2007 at Marymount University's Portfolio in Motion in a fashion show.
