KSRTC stands for Kerala State Transport Corporation is state owned bus transport company, started operation in 1938. It is headquartered in the city Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, an Indian State. It is one of the oldest public transport corporations in India started operations on 20th September 1937 during the period of Travancore Government in the state of Kerala. The transport corporation was started with fleet of 60 comet chassis diesel engine buses, and at present time this state transport corporation has 6195 buses including Double Deckker, Vestibule, City Fast, Superfast, Mini, Super Express, Super Deluxe, Volvo, Low Floor, Super Fast etc.

The company has added buses of many reputed companies including Tata, Ashok Leyland, Volvo etc in its fleet. The corporation is operating its buses from various depots located at various places around the Kerela including Vizhinjam, Aryanad, Kaniyapuram, Attingal, Nedumangad, Aryanad, Kaniyapuram, Trivandrum Central, Trivandrum City, Chadayamangalam, Chathannoor, Punalur etc. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation gives its services to all the cities and villages in Karnataka. According to one survey, almost 92% villagers of Karnataka is served by KSRTC. The corporation serves approximately 24.57 lakh passenger every day through its more than 6,000 regular buses. KRTC has started online booking ticketing on 18th November 2009 to make online ticketing possible for the passengers of Kerala. 188 schedules buses are available for online ticketing that includes 3 A/C, Volvo, 15 A/C, 31 Super Deluxe, 26 Super Express, 81 Super Fast, 28 Fast Passenger and 4 Ordinary Service. For its best services, KRTC is rewarded with many awards and recognitions including PCRA Award, Urband Mobility India, Earth Care Award, Golden Peacock International Award, Chief Minister Rathna Award etc.
