Kelowna General Hospital History
With just 19 beds, Kelowna General Hospital was founded on 2nd of August 1908. The land for the hospital was donated by Kelowna Land and Orchard Company. Till 1940, hospital remains unchanged when a new hospital building was constructed. Five storey Royal building was completed in 1992 whereas new six storey Centennial Tower constructed between 2008 and 2012. In 2007, pans were approved to expand Kelowna hospital under various facilities are upgraded and modernised. With the University Of British Columbia Medical School, 34,000 square foot Clinical Academic Campus Building is also constructed.
