Hello. I purchased a tech support plan with geek squad when I purchased my current Dell desktop computer on 8/07/2015. My older desktop, also purchased at Best Buy, needed to be replaced. Agent Scott installed my new computer, and subsequently he came on 5/25/2016 to work on my desktop when I was experiencing problems. Since Friday I have not been able to reach any sites from my desktop. I called geek squad yesterday evening at 8:10 p. M., Saturday, July two, 2016. Agent Michael asked I power off the modem tower and wait 30 seconds. I did, and I still did not have internet access. He tried to set up an in-home appointment--none available. He called Central Dispatch, and he was told the tech no longer worked for geek squad; therefore, no one could be scheduled. Really? I purchased my computer from Best Buy less than five minutes from my home located at Sam Rittenburg Blvd. I just received a call from an Agent Mike to explain he spoke with the district field manger, and the DFM stated no tech available. There are three Best Buys in the Charleston commuting area. Sam Rittenburg, Rivers Ave (N. Charleston), and Summerville. When I asked "when" a tech would be available, he did not have an answer. My "tech support plan" expires next month. If you were me as a customer, would you renew? As Agent Mike stated, I could bring in my desktop to a store for repair. This tower is quite heavy, and I prefer to have someone come to my home to perform a thorough diagnostic especially to determine it is not my internet service provider. As I told Agent Mike a few moments ago, I would like someone with geek squad to contact me and to advise if geek squad plans to have an in-home technician. Am I missing something? I thought that is why the founder created geek squad to provide this service. Perhaps I am mistaken. I look forward to a timely reply.
