The Athlete’s Foot is a worldwide retailer of footwear, apparel and accessories, which is inspired by athletic. According to 2014, there are over 400 stores of the company across the world in twenty six countries including the United States, Australia, Europe, France, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Spain and many more. There are about 435 stores of the company in U.S.A., from which 261 are owned by the company.
Athlete’s Foot History
In 1971, the first Athlete’s Foot store was opened by Michael Lando in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The first international franchisee of company was opened in 1978 in Adelaide, Australia. Michael Lando sold Athlete’s foot sold French retail conglomerate Rallye S.A in 1984 and moved into new headquarters in the Atlanta area in 1985. In New Zealand, Athlete’s foot was introduced in 1995. According to 2014, there are about 10 stores and Ed Connolly is master franchisee for New Zealand in 2009. In 2006, NexCen Brands Inc. buys Athlete’s Foot whereas INTERSPORT International Corporation acquired Athlete’s Foot in 2012 from NexCen.
