AMVIC stands for The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council. It is a non profit organization that regulates the motor vehicle industry and maintains a marketplace for the consumer, businessperson and sales person. It is the body that investigates about the business and consumer complaints, enforces legislation and takes on the compensation funds to assist the consumers. The council provides educational opportunities to the business consumers and industry members. The council implies and enforces the Fair Trading Act, the Automotive Business Regulation, the Cost of Credit Disclosure Regulation and the Internet Sales Contract Regulation that is incorporated and managed under the Alberta Societies Act. The organization of The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) is led by 11 board of directors.
